Single Review: Symphony Cult – Speak When Spoken To
Heavy and dark guitars dominate this debut single from Symphony Cult, complimented by Charlotte’s angsty vocal, leading to something of a Smashing Pumpkins vibe at times.
Relative newcomers to the rock n roll world, only being formed early last year, Symphony Cult have nevertheless been out there making their name known, getting a mention or two in Kerrang! and with a heavy touring schedule lined up across the UK through the summer and into autumn.
I do have to ask though – are they ready for it yet? On the basis of this single, I’d have say probably not, there’s still a lot of work to be done. They really need to tighten up the song writing and try and forge their own identity. This is an okay first single, but ultimately they come across as anonymous at best.
