Distorted Breed: Last blog of the tour

Jim D keeps us up to date with the Distorted Breed UK Tour.

It’s a long way up there and its all about the fish!

The same start as all the others came along at one o’clock Sunday afternoon after eating a breakfast to kill a small goat! Me and my partner in crime jumped in the skull wagon and turned the key! It has to be said facing a 330 mile round trip on a Sunday when I usually spend it sat on my girlfriends bed reading the paper and fooling about didn’t fill me with a great sense of wonder but when the key turned the magical rock n roll energy took over and the journey flew by! Hippy was consuming sweets at an alarming rate and I knew the sugar rush would be followed by an almighty crash so I downed a packet of tangfastics to by the time we got to the Yardbirds Grimsby we were both boinging along happily!

The Yardbirds is run and owned by the Warlock mc and they have the best soundman – nothing phases that guy! We had a chat about last time talked about the blood on the ceiling and then slowly and leisurely loaded in. Hold on, blood on the ceiling?!

Its ok calm your pretty selves, it was fake blood spat out by a fake Gene Simmons in a fake KISS band so basically all fake!

So we hooked up with Milly and the gang from North Wall Cosa! You couldn’t ask for a better support band. They brought all the gear set it up and were the best people as well as bringing fans to watch us lol! A great band who know all about what they are doing  and play some great laid back rock n roll check them out on reverb nation they are on my bands recommend bit on our profile!

So we crashed into our set and I finally noticed that we were a man down im a bit slow like that! Andy our new guitar player had bowed out due to the fact that his life had changed and needed to not be in the band.

The first song done and the crowd reacted as we like them to by banging tables and screaming for some more so I guess we did good! There is nothing like a crowd to make me burn with stage fever I love it more than anything well not more than almost anything shagging comes first obviously ha ha! We played great no fumbles with the new 4 piece stage situation it all went great!

Now one thing I should point out is that when a bar has Jack Daniels behind it I will be drinking so I had a few! When a double and coke costs only £3.05 you have to dont you or its just rude! So I had a few drinks and chilled out with the people there Trace and John and Milly and his crew to! Was nice to sit and reflect on a set of gigs that saw us be the headline act around the country for the first time! I still haven’t seen or smelt any fish you know how odd I was told Grimsby was built on it must have misunderstood!!

The whole tour has been an experience for all of us to remember fondly as well as with some painful parts like dislocating my thumb and waiting for the pickle police as well as the haunted cider can at the Duke in Neath! I tell you this however im a true blue rocker and always will be and feel privileged to have been given the chance with this new band to hit the road and play to some of the best people I have met in my life!! Am I gushing is my mascara running well if so. so what it’s the best fucking feeling in the world to stand on a stage where there is a crowd wanting you to entertain them!

More touring in march 2011 I don’t know if ill be doing a tour blog on here for that but I will be doing it somewhere so look out for it!
