Your Questions Blathered to … The Darkness
You ridiculous lot gave us a few rather daft questions to ask The Darkness in Hammersmith last week, so in advance of the full interview, here are some dubious answers to some silly questions.
(from Julz Roxx) How hot is Hotter than Hot?
Ed: Very Hot.
Frankie: White Hot isn’t it? I don’t know why people don’t say black hot. That must be pretty hot…
(from Kristian Kotilainen) Apparantly the Red Rose Tandoori in Islington is the best curry house, according to The Darkness. Is this true?
Frankie: He’s a great guy that guy, he was good to us, so it was nice to be good to him as well. Justin was being quite playful there!
Ed: Justin used to live near there years ago. I probably shouldn’t say this, because it’ll destroy the myth, but he said in an interview with The Sun that he’d brought the entire staff of the Red Rose Tandoori to America to cater for us on tour! Completely not true, but The Sun printed it.
So yeah, the guy who runs the restaurant loves us and brings us loads of curry to rehearsals – although I don’t think I’ve ever even been there!
(from Nix) You guys have always given lots of space on tours to new bands and the like, are there any new bands you dig?
Ed: I don’t follow things as well as I should. I used to live in Camden, and a lot of my mates there are great new bands round there…
(Dave) I saw Fuzz the other day, his band have just split up…
Ed: I was in that band!
Frankie: KFP wasn’t it?
Ed: They carried on with his brother, Angus on drums for a bit. I should mention Angus’s new band Goyd, they’re freak mental. He asked me to play drums on that, but although I like the music I don’t think I could play it! It’s really weird, almost orchestral.
