Well it’s about time the great north gave us another quality act and it comes in the form of the melodic metal band, Midnight Realm, from Newcastle! Their first track, Solaris, has been issued as a free single to download and is definitely worth getting!
The bands style is contemporary with the current melodic death metal flowing over from Sweden and tones of symphonic metal also, similar to that of Sonic Syndicate but less poppy. The vocals have a classic metalcore sound familiar to that of Atreyu, needless to say I think this is wicked!! I’ve since heard another track from the EP, Polarissima, scheduled for an early 2012 release and it continues with a consistent high level of quality in production and performance with drums completed by Threat Signal’s Alex Rüdinger!
