Cat’in Booty goes steampunk with this booty!
Those lovely men – you know, “The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing” release their second album ‘This May Be The Reason Why The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing Cannot Be Killed By Conventional Weapons’ on March 12th via Leather Apron records.
They nearly, very recently got into a little glove slapping duel with EMI as said label took a disliking to their 2010 release title ‘Now That’s What I Call Steampunk! Volume 1’ (though it should be pointed out, it took them 2 years to bring this up as an issue). Given just three working days to either change the album’s name or face legal action the band, who are fronted by ‘occult comedian’ seen on the stages of Download, Sonisphere etc Andrew O’Neill, had spent the weekend canvassing their fans for alternative titles. After sifting through suggestions spanning the sublime to ridiculous, they have now picked a winner.
The record formerly known as ‘Now That’s What I Call Steampunk! Volume 1’ will be made available on iTunes et al again later this week, and also go to a second CD pressing, under new title ‘The Steampunk Album That Cannot Be Named For Legal Reasons’.
We’re giving you a chance to grab a copy of their now limited edition titled album and two tickets to the band’s new album launch on Feb 17th at the Bowery, London. All you need to do is get your chops round the following question:
Q. From which popular film is the quote “This may be the reason why Keith cannot be killed by conventional weapons”, from which ‘The Men’ derived the title of their new album?
Competition has now closed. Liam Erskine answered correctly: Wayne’s World 2!
T&C’s: This competition is open to UK residents only. The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another party. Pure Rawk reserves the right to withhold the competition prize.
