Shush to open up the Pure Rawk Awards 2012!
London rockers, Shush will open up the Pure Rawk Awards – acoustic style.
They join headliners Obsessive Compulsive plus supports The James Warner Prophecies, Jonny Cola and the A Grades and The Lost Souls Club for a night of celebration.
Every year at the Pure Rawk Awards, there is a special acoustic slot usually filled by a band who by trade, dabble in the raw, wild and the electric side of music – this year Shush strip down their set and kick things off acoustic style.
Shush exploded onto the rock scene with their twisted sound of rock with dark pop melodies, lush vocals, crunchy guitars, pounding bass and thundering drums. Malcolm Dome of Total Rock radio comments: “Multi-national. Poly-cultural. And many faceted, Shush are a bright spark from the fires of what is best termed alternative pop-rock.”
Pure Rawk’s sharp scribe, Dave Ashworth says “It’s hard to find a description that does Shush justice. It’s maybe Blondie coming down off their art school high horse, getting trashed and starting a fight with some real rockers in Soho at 3am. Or perhaps The Foo Fighters getting really high and deciding that, actually, their favourite band in the world ever is Girlschool. Something like that anyway, you’ll have to see them for yourselves and decide”.
Pure Rawk Editor, Nix comments on the new openers “We’re big fans of Shush and everything they do. They performed a stunning acoustic set at the 100 Club at the end of last year so we got on the phone and asked them to come down – what better way to start the party! They’re taking time out from writing their ‘difficult second album’ so this is a special one-off you won’t want to miss”.
Shush’s album “Soundtrack of My Life” is available at all good online digital retailers.
