Pure Rawk Tour News Round Up #4
Yup, you’ve guessed it, it’s another of our occasional tour round-up features bringing all the latest news from gig world …
First off, some bad news unfortunately – the hotly anticipated Flesh For Lulu/Jonny Cola & The A-Grades/The Priscillas gig on January 18th at the Borderline has been cancelled due to FFL guitarist Will Crewdson suffering a shoulder injury. The gig will be re-arranged as soon as he’s back to full fitness – in the meantime, get well soon Will.
However, for those looking for some sleazy rock ‘n’ roll action in January (which, let’s face it, is never usually very busy on the live music front), you could always go to the Buffalo Bar on the 24th to catch a rare London show by Nottingham filth wizards The Hip Priests at the Some Weird Sin club night. Should be a good one that.
Following on from last year’s excellent “The Terror Of Modern Life” album, Goldblade will be back on the road for a few gigs in the early weeks of the year. You can catch their always-explosive live show at Corby Zombie Hut on 18th January and at the Victoria Inn in Derby on 22nd February.
Do Pussycat & The Dirty Johnsons ever stop touring? Evidently not – Puss and the boys are taking their high-octane live show out on the road again at the following venues.
31st January – Bradford-on-Avon Three Horseshoes
8th February – Liverpool Mello Mello
15th February – Bristol Thekla
28th February – Brixton Prince Albert
14th March – Camden Dublin Castle (with the Dogbones)
22nd March – Tufnell Park Boston Arms (supporting the Fuzztones)
Another band keeping up their impressive touring schedule into the New Year are the always-entertaining Evil Scarecrow who you can catch at the following venues over the next couple of months.
4th January – Grimsby Yardbirds
11th January – Nottingham Rescue Rooms
8th February – Norwich Waterfront
16th February – Bournemouth Sound Circus
17th February – Bristol Exchange
19th February – Leicester Shed
20th February – Basingstoke Sanctuary
21st February – Tufnell Park Boston Arms
1st March – Bury Flying Shuttle
15th March – Derby Hairy Dog
Also on a more light-hearted note, swashbuckling rockers the East Town Pirates are out and about on tour at the following venues over the next few weeks. Bring yer grog and wenches and enjoy.
17th January – Lowestoft Flying Dutchman
6th February – Nottingham Tap & Tumbler
7th February – Derby Sitwell Tavern
28th February – Ipswich Spread Eagle
Finally, hardworking Nottingham rockers JD & The FDC’s will be making a couple of live appearances in the early weeks of the year – catch ‘em at Nottingham Maze on the 18th January and Rotherham Bridge Inn on the 21st February.
