The Darkness announce “Access All Eire” tour for March
The Darkness head out for six dates in Ireland in March and the venues are pretty small!
A statement on the band’s official Facebook says: “That’s right – we’re taking off to the green lands of wonderful Ireland, the place where a lot of the material for our forthcoming album was written or completed. We’re doing intimate venues to cater for our hardcore fans so contact your local venue directly to obtain tickets as they will sell very fast.”
Here are the dates:
Fri 6th March – Spirit Store Dundalk
Sat 7th March – Nerve Centre Derry
Sun 8th March – Whelans Dublin
Fri 13th March – Monroes Live Galway
Sat 14th March – Dolans Warehouse Limerick
Sun 15th March – Bridge House Tullamore
They head out on tour with their new drummer, Emily Dolan Davies replacing Ed Graham.
“The new album is brutal,” singer Justin Hawkins told Classic Rock. “It’s definitely stripped back — with the exception of some mandolins. But when you’re doing medieval rock you should have a mandolin in it. And while I wouldn’t say that this [is] our Rainbow Rising, we’re definitely exploring the myths of old. It’s medieval rock, but it still sounds like The Darkness.”
