Fightback – Lineup Announced For Music Venues Trust Fundraiser
Music Venue Trust have today announced the lineup for their Fightback fundraiser gig, including Everything Everything, Public Service Broadcasting, Ed Hardcourt and many more over three stages at Camden’s Roundhouse on October 18th.
Small music venues in this country are shutting down at a depressing rate, with redevelopment, gentrification, noise complaints and financial perils all taking their toll, with local authorities, landlords and the law rarely seeming to be on the side of live music.
To try and combat this decline, grass roots champions Music Venue Trust are putting together an emergency response team of experts on licensing, acoustics, noise, legal and tenancy issues, with the aim of responding quickly when a venue comes under threat. The hope is that with quick expert advice, many of the problems that get used as an excuse to close venues down can be dealt with early, and effectively.
All of the artists on the Fightback bill have given their time to play this gig to raise funds for this potentially vital service. It’s easy to sit back and bemoan the loss of small venues, but these guys are trying to do something about it, so come down and show your support. We’ve got our tickets, see you there!
