EP Review: Sworn To Oath – ‘Don’t Fuck About’

A turbocharged 3 piece outfit from the glorious tropical climes of … Stoke. Well, it’s the right side of England for producing monster riff laden rock and metal and that is precisely what you get with Sworn To Oath’s debut EP.
Distorted and crunchy bass lines dominate every track backed by fierce guitar solos, rampant drums and powerhouse vocals. If you like it loud it’s seems just about the right thing to break your neck to from moshing. “One Split Second” could be the track that gets grabs the most attention, mixing great vocal melodies in a heavy mash to satisfy the saliva glands of the hardened metal head. “This Is Hell” rumbles in to a tirade of headbanging fury and really utilises a sweet double kick on the drums.
I have no complaints – other than the fact that it’s only 3 songs but a good investment of a fiver. Sworn To Oath are knocking on all the right doors and hopefully this release paves them a way for a golden chance to make an impact in 2010.
‘Don’t Fuck About’; it does exactly what it says on the tin.
1. City of Lies
2. One Split Second
3. This Is Hell
