Ginger Wildheart Releases New Charity Single

After another busy year, Ginger Wildheart is rounding off 2016 with perhaps his most important work yet, Fuck You Brain, a brand new single aimed at suicide prevention at Christmas and promoting mental health awareness. The download-only single is Ginger’s collaboration with recent touring companion Ryan Hamilton and all artists on the release have given their time for free so that as much as possible can be raised for charity.

A couple of weeks ago, it looked like the festive Wildhearts tour and traditional Ginger Birthday show were all off. The man himself had tweeted as much, but after an initial flurry of confusion and overwhelming support, plans were very much afoot once again, including this defiant release.

As the Wildhearts main man himself admits: “Ironically I struggled even getting to the studio to record my parts for this single, deep as I was in my current battle with depression. The same attack that almost killed me a week ago. My depression wants me dead. So far I’m winning on weight advantage, but the battle is never over.”

With all proceeds from the single going to The Samaritans, Ginger added: “This is a very vulnerable time of year for sufferers of mental health issues, and suicide sees a marked increase over Christmas and New Year. So the help provided by The Samaritans is invaluable, especially over this period. Please help us in helping someone this year.”

Featuring the talents of The Dowling Poole’s Givvi Flynn and singer songwriter Emily Ewing amongst others, Fuck You Brain is backed by two further original tracks, Ode To The Idiots and DogbreathThe single itself costs £5 (plus the appropriate tax for your country, so £6 total in the UK), but if you are able to add a bit more, the artists would very much appreciate you doing so.

We here at Pure Rawk hope that Fuck You Brain raises a hefty sum for this hugely worthwhile cause.
